Drama-Shmama… A Media Affect

Published by sarabella under Writing Edit This

An apple a day keeps the drama away.  Well, not exactly. But when it comes to breaking news, we, as a society, are certainly no stranger to the likes of jaw-dropping, media-infused indignities as millions of publications feature every insider’s scoop known to mankind. Can’t relly blame’em because you know we love it!From arts to entertainment, sports to celebritism, and crime to political banter, the general interest commands a demographic of readers with a cornucopia of attention-grabbing headlines.

Like a sponge, we soak up believable rumor mills and statistical concepts no matter the form or fashion… and seeming it leaves us wanting more.

While getting ‘in the know’ is definitely a mainstay to cultural awareness, what influence does the mass communication industry have over today’s generation? And by what standard do young women feel susceptible to change because of such extensive A-lister’s news coverage without qualm?

Think about it… more next time.
